American, R&B pop princess Fantasia lived up to her top billing at the sold out “Voices In Concert” held recently at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.

“Fantasia came, saw and conquered tonight” said event organizer George Crooks, Jammins Events. “We are just thrilled that we had the opportunity to present such a memorable performance of her in the tri-state area,” he said.

When the Idol winner hit the stage at close to 11:00 p.m. with her band in tow, excitement broke out in anticipation of the tasty musical treat that fans were to receive. The singer, who announced she was mourning the passing of her grandmother quickly composed herself and for the next 60 minutes, engaged fans with classic hits like “Lose To Win,” “Free Yourself,” “Ain’t Gon’ Beg You” “Bitter Sweet” and “Baby Making Hips” that were warmly received. Midway in her set she even made her way off stage and into the press/VIP area so she could better interact with fans. This simple act was a winning move that may have earned her a permanent place in the hearts of music lovers in the house.

Voice season 5 winner Tessanne Chin was also in fine nick, displayed stunning vocal range at her first major performance in Brooklyn. The Jamaican reggae, soul, pop queen served up a tasty musical treat, including her first hit single “Hideaway,” “Anything’s Possible,” “Underneath It All,” “You Got What I Need,” “Redemption Song” and “Try” for the 3,000 plus fans who were there to see her perform. Midway in her set she earned a rousing ovation after a riveting, spine chilling rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” that was perfectly executed.

These two phenomenal artist are just the kick off to Jammins Events upcoming concert series. Look out for a Mother’s Day Weekend you ca n not miss as on Saturday, May 9 it is the O’Jays, Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes and special guest Glen Jones; Sunday, May 10 it is the King of Soca – Machel Montano, Angela Hunte & Friends; and on Saturday, Aug. 1 it is the Lover’s Rocker himself, Beres Hammond and Jamaica Reggae/Jazz legend Monty Alexander.
